Objectives

The objective of the IEA technical committee on anthropometry is to improve the understanding of anthropometry and its applications. We try to achieve this goal through stimulation of high-quality anthropometric surveys, development of anthropometric tools and dissemination of knowledge and data.

Structure

The IEA technical committee consists of a chair (Johan Molenbroek) and a list of the above mentioned current members. The committee will meet each 3years during each IEA conference.

This TC is created by WEAR in 2007.

WEAR is an International Association that consists of a group of experts in Engineering Anthropometry involved in the application of anthropometric data for design purposes. These experts are from around the world and did become the first members of this TC.

You can join the TC Anthropometry too if you are interested in anthropometry and an member of a National Ergonomics Society. Please send an email to j.f.m.molenbroek@tudelft.nl to be added to the email list IEA-TC-Anthro@nic.surfnet.nl

To implement the above objectives, this TC could create Working Groups depending on the meeting in Beijing in 2009.

Idea’s for Working Groups

Standards and Anthropometry

This group is concerning to coordinate and synchronize with the work in the ISO and the national standard committees

Digital Human Models and Anthropometry

This group coordinates and stimulates the work that is presented at the SAE Digital Human Modelling Conferences and the IEA Conferences

Action Plan WEAR

WEAR has her own action plan, see www.wearanthro.org with a next meeting at Tokio in
